Van Nest Hall an Nest Hall was the second instructional building at Rutgers, built in 1847 to house a science lab, a museum, and the literary societies. It was built in a spare and pleasing Renaissance revival style; the third story added later destroyed its lines (as well as the widow's walk seen here).
