Emergency Preparedness and Helpful Resources for the University Community

What You Need to Know

The university regularly reviews and, where appropriate, revises and enhances its security and emergency management procedures. Rutgers is well prepared to respond to any emergency and the university community can be assured that safety is always a priority. The university also remains committed to promoting and maintaining a campus environment of tolerance, respect, peaceful assembly, and constructive dialogue.

The war in Iraq and accompanying national security alerts present our community with many difficult challenges and concerns. This page is designed to provide access to information on emergency management procedures and campus and regional safety, and serve as a gateway to other helpful resources for students, parents, faculty, and staff.

To report an emergency or any activity you feel may pose a threat to life or property, notify the Rutgers University Police Department by calling 9-1-1 (if using a university extension first obtain an outside line and then dial 9-1-1).
